Solar Installer Accelerator

The Solar Installer Accelerator is a solar pv and battery installation training programme designed to accelerate the number of locally based businesses entering and benefiting from the UK's growing solar market. 

Developed by Green Economy, MCS Certified and local partners, the course provides qualified electricians with the skills and knowledge to enter the renewable energy market and run a thriving, solar installation business

Solar power installation training

Course contents and eligibility requirements

The programme provides:

  • Qualification in Solar PV and Battery
  • MCS Certification for 1 x product
  • Business growth advice from Green Economy consultants
  • Access to industry experts including

The course is open to any business or sole traders meeting the following requirements:

  • Have a registered and/or trading address in West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
  • Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671) 18th Edition & Level 3 Qualification in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations. Gold card, NVQ 3 in electrical installation or historical craft qualifications listed on the EAS.
  • Not currently operating in the domestic solar PV market.
  • Available and committed to attend the full 5-day course (3rd-7th February 2025 in Normanton)
  • Willing to complete all required paperwork including initial registration and final evaluation.

Level 3 Battery Storage - EAL Awarding Body – South West Electrical Training Delivery​

Level 3 Solar Installation - EAL Awarding Body – South West Electrical Training Delivery​

Day 5

2 hours of roofing training, MCS Guest Speaker, Green Economy Marketplace, Solar Calculator, 1-1 Green Economy support and paperwork sign off.
