Ventilation installer training course

Our ventilation installer accelerator is a free ventilation installation training course, upskilling tradespeople in West Yorkshire to provide ventilation solutions to domestic retrofit projects and new-build homes.

Our unique programme, developed in partnership with Paul Heat Recovery, Wrapt Homes and Leeds Sustainability Institute, will provide training on MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery) systems, as well as passive or uncontrolled ventilation. We will also explore best practice and system limitations, including broader training on retrofitting properties and how ventilation can be used alongside other retrofit measures for maximum impact.

Why is ventilation important?

Ventilation plays a vital role in reducing moisture risk in homes and commercial properties, with real benefits to comfort, health and energy efficiency. Adequate ventilation can improve the resilience and value of both the existing housing stock, and new-build properties.

Health benefits include reduced instances of asthma attacks or respiratory reactions to mould, damp, pollution or pollen. Greater benefits come with Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery where energy efficiency can increase by up to 90%, raising the temperature during cold spots, and lowering temperature during heatwaves, ensuring consistent comfort as well as reducing heating and cooling demand, and therefore bills - or removing the need to install air conditioning all together.
